VMM.VXD

I’m working on a HP Pavilion 8160(P233 MMX, 92megs, 6 gigs), it keeps coming up with a Windows protection error-Can’t load C:/Windows/System/vmm.vxd file is missing or corrupt. I’ve cleared the Cmos, updated the bios, scandisk the hard drive,checked for viruses, formatted the hard drive and reloaded Win 98 SE
4times. Any ideas would be a big help. Thanks
