Vpn and XP

my question is this, im trying to vpn in with xp pro. same setting as 2000 it will not connect using pcanywhere 10.5. If i use 2000 it works fine if i do a netstat -a it say its there and connect its just not pick up on the other side (pcanywhere). both are running 10.5 pcanywhere have try some other remote desktop software no joy same thing happens..
