VPN Banner Sock Error

Attempt to remote access to domain — receives error “BannerSock: Unable to make connection” — click OK. System puts icon in the system tray, but will not let allow remote access to domain. Only change since last ability to remote access is installation of Norton Firewall. What is the best resolution (would rather not deinstall the firewall).
