VPN Client Can’t Access One Server

I have a user who connects to our network from her home PC (XPPro). She gets a VPN connection and can access the network, except for one server – our email server. Our server has the same name as her ISP’s email server. I was thinking of using a fully qualified name with domain in a HOSTS or LMHOSTS file.
