VPN error 619

Whenever I try to make a VPN connection from a W2k laptop, using my cable modem, I get a 619 error. It looks like the computer is trying to make a dial-up connection instead of using the cable modem connection. The ethernet connection is working as I can get to the web and I can ping the VPN box.
