At our company we have about 10 offices that are NOT on the WAN. They are setup in workgroups with printers attached to other workstations, and shared out.
When people VPN in, if they do not have a printer on LPT1, they can’t print. The shared printer is unaccessible because the VPN connection becomes their default gateway (if I’ve analyzed it right). I need to get these clients to print to their local workgroup/shared printer while they VPN in to our corporate network. Immediately when they connect to VPN, their printers go “offline.”
Currently we use only TCP/IP, no Netbeui or IPX. I’d guess I could install Netbeui and get the solution to work that way some how, but I’d like to find something easier.
Unfortunately I do not control the VPN Server, and can’t make changes to any config’s on it.
All clients are Win9x.
