I have a win2K servers on a network running in native mode. That network is connected to the internet via DSL on a pipeline router that is running NAT and DHCP. I am trying to connect to that network via VPN and PPTP from another network that has a permanent internet connection behind a proxy server.
I’m looking for some thoughts on configuration. What do I need to set up on the DSL router as far as NAT goes? Do I need to set up some DNS records or will NAT take care of the referral. What do I need to configure in RRAS. Do I need to configure IAS? Will Windows authentication be sufficient? I’m not using RADIUS. After I make the VPN connection, I want to run a TSE cliet from my network to the network behind the DSL router so that I can remotely administer that win2K server.
Big question, common solution, but I haven’t set one up yet.
Looking for some insight.
