VxD error message

I have a dell inspiron 8100, and it was working fine. Now all of a sudden I get VxD errors and my computer is really slow. Also, when i back up it takes about 45mins instead of the usual 7min. Talked to dell support for about an hour and they still didn’t resolve the poblem. I checked the space on my C: drive, ran defrag, and viruscans.
