vxd,reboot problems mapped drives

hi, running windows 95 on a ibm laptop connected with a 3c589pccard to a winnt server. If i map drives out, booting up (cold boot won;t happen with a warm boot) will login to the server but when it tries to restore connections to mapped out drivesthe system will first reboot then on boot with load properly but after logining in again and the system again tries to restore mapped drives get an unknown vxd error. The system will work properly with the network as long as i do not map drives.
error is :
an exception error 05 has occured at 0028:c2120070 in vxd—. this was called from 0028:00010292 vxd—.
