does anyone have a clue. We experience the problerm as follows.
Configuration: W2000 domain spanning multiple sites + some child domains
located on each site. Mixed clients have 98, NT and W2000.
When 98 users try to share folder on their computer using user level
security from multisited domain, they r getting the message
” You cannot view the list of users at this time. Please try again later.”
NT and W2000 clients have no problems getting user list. 98 clents CAN get
the user list from any child domain.
I’ve installed AD clent pack on 98 clents and they can query AD through Win
address book (LDAP operations)
I’ve checked all permissions on objects in AD and compared it to other
domain. They are just standard.
I’ve captured traffic between the client and server with Netowrk Monitor.
During the request server name is resolved correctly and then client and
server comminicate over RPC. Unfortunately I’m not so familiar with RPC
proto and can’t identify the problem correctly.
