W2k AD connection to PDC

I have a stand alone computer which is the server in a small 10 computer network. Somehow while attempting unsuccessfully to setup IIS, I changed the name of the pdc from ‘computer’ to ‘computer.com’. Now AD gives the message “Naming information cannot be located because: The network path was not found. Contact your sysadmin to verify that your domain is properly configured and is currently online.”
Users can log on without problems. Is reinstalling AD the only way to rename the domain?
