W2K box crashing

I have a quirky Windows 2000 box. When I have a few windows open, and then try to open an Access 2000 windown, the box crashed…hard. It is like pulling the power plug… I have reloaded w2k once, and it is still happening. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
