W2K can’t logon

Why after months of using W2K you get a message that comes up when the logon box first appears, another box with an ! that states you are using an incorrect password & make sure you don’t use capitalization ? No matter what you do you can’t get intothe desktop? How can this be solved short of reinstalling W2K?
