We’re seeing the loss of our print spool services…it actually stops for a while before it shows up as stopped as well as frequent system crashes on our w2k print server. We are running w2k server on an Intergraph TD 260/400mhz w/256 mb of RAM. Weran the compatibility checker and nothing had any problems before the upgrade. It is plot server for several printers and plotters. Has anyone had any problems like this? We’ve seen the print spool service stop on another plot server (Dell powerredge 1400 w/w2k server)and a few workstations. Is this a MS problem or probably local to the system? This is the error message seen in the event log at the time of crash: Event Type: Warning
Event Source: w32time
Event Category: None
Event ID: 64
Date: 8/20/2001
Time: 12:13:42 AM
User: N/A
Computer: NORTON-NC
Description:
Because of repeated network problems, the time service has not been able to find a domain controller to synchronize with for a long time. To reduce network traffic, the time service will wait 960 minutes before trying again. No synchronization will take place during this interval, even if network connectivity is restored. Accumulated time errors may cause certain network operations to fail. To tell the time service that network connectivity has been restored and that it should resynchronize, execute “w32tm /s” from the command line.
