W2K Serv. Chokes up

Every time I have installed W2K Serv. it bogs down and eventually locks up and I can’t even log in on the server after about 2-3 weeks. This only happens after in install Active Directory. I am using Wingate for a proxie for internet sharing and also have my own domain name. I’m sure I have configured something wrong and would appreciate a step by step method of installation. I usually assign an I.P. of 192.168.0.1 to the server and also assign I.P.’s (192.168.x.x) to the workstaions as well.
