W2K / XP networking

by jtday_1 . Updated 22 years, 9 months ago

I am running a small network of machines with the main file server running Windows 2000 Pro and the others running XP Home. I have programs that run on the “client” terminals that look back to the 2000 machine for their database. I am using static IP addresses. I have mapped network drives set up for the XP machines to access the database on the host computer. When an XP machine is rebooted it does not re-establish the network drive connection. You can active the drive again but you have to put in a username and password to do so. I have checked the user accounts on all machines and they seem to be set up correctly. Any ideas on how to get rid of the user log on when re-establishing this connection?
