W98 Files won’t open

HELP function disappeared. Can’t open MK@MSITStore C:\windows\help\windows.chm Tried reinstalling WIN98 but no change. NEW printer wouldn’t test print or function, but runs on another computer with W98. Message: Can’t open MS-its:tshoot98.chm/win98print-result.htm
Without wiping out hard drives, can this be corrected.
