W98SE doesn’t detect second drive

I have installed a second hard drive in my HP Pavilion. According to the diagnostic software supplied by the manufacturer (Maxtor/Quantum) the drive is installed correctly, partioned and formatted.

It doesn’t show up under Explorer or My Computer, although I can access it in DOS or in a DOS window.

Can anybody help me get the drive to show up in Windows?
