WAN MINIPORT ERROR PLEASE HELP

In device manager I have a yellow exclamation mark next to Wan Miniport, and when I view properties for it I get

“This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)”

I am running Win2k and I have installed all the service packs to date, I can’t remove it, when I try I get a error telling me that the computer needs it to start, which baffles me because I thought it was used for dialup connectionsbut I am using a cable modem, and I don’t have a dialup modem installed on my computer. I need help this problem has been around since I installed Win2k about 5 months now and I simply can’t find a solution.
