Web Browser Loses Graphics and Images

I had a computer running IE 5.5 and Graphics and Images disappeared or were not displayed correctly when scrolling on the page, (page needs to be refreshed to display Graphics). I the computer to IE 6.0 and the problem still occurs. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated.
