What causes Win98 to corrupt my ITP file

I have to constantly remove and then reinstall my ITP file on my WINDOWS 98 computer (on average about once a week). What is causing this file to be corrupted so often?

Also, I am getting sick and tired of Windows 98 “crashing” on me unexpectedly. There are many times when I am in the middle of something and Windows will simply freeze up and/or crash for no known reason, causing me to loose everything I was working on, and many times corrupting the file(s) that I had open (that I was working on).
