What does WMRUNDLL.EXE do?

I was having problems with my P.C a few weeks ago. I kept on receiving a message
saying The instruction at “0x10001ef4” referenced memory at “0x0009b000”. The memory could not be read.I looked up on the Microsoft website and did not find any reference to this application nor could I find much on the Internet itself.

I have since deleted this file and have had no problems.

It was located in the SYSTEM folder of Windows and is about 8KB. It did not appear in any of the processes, and appeared randomly, sometimes the computer was locked, others I would leave the computer for a while and when I cameback it would be there. I had to click 4 or 5 times before the message went away.

What is it, what does it do, and what program put ot there?
