What managed switches do you use and why?

I finally get to overhaul an old all hub network! It is primarily using 3COM hubs that have been reliable, but they are hubs after all.

I have one 24 port 3COM 4400 managed switch for the core, but need to get something for three other locations for the core switch.

What brands do you use and why? Functionality? Cost? Features? Ease of use?

The 4400’s run about 1K each, and the more this costs the slower things move along because I will have to get fewer pieces at a time.

3COM has other managed solutions, but haven’t had the time to see just what is the difference besides $500 each.

Cisco is much more than is needed and would never get funding approved.

Four locations, with about twenty users in each location.

Will be adding IP Phones soon. Already doing VoIP.

cisco 2621’s connecting each location.
