Hi,
I hope that someone out there can help…
I’m working on a friend?s computer that seems to have blown. Everything was dead. Checked power supply and the fuse was blown, replaced and still nothing, just re-blew the fuse. Everything, all fans, components, heatsinks were all buried in dirt and lint. Cleaned everything out, replaced power supply from the 400w to a new 450w. Still nothing, bridged psu and fans kicked in. I suspected the motherboard. Replaced the gigabyte mobo with an Asrock 775i65G Motherboard, put new in heatsink and fan with application of new thermal paste and still nothing. Tested psu and all ok. When everything connected, turned on and nothing, however, when turning off from the switch at the back a slight backward sounding chirp type noise, comes from the psu. The question is, where to next?
Any and all help would be extremely appreciated, at my end of my tether!!
Computer is a P4 3ghz, 775 with DDR 400 (1gb) 160gig HDD.
Cheers and all the best.
