Where are my JPG’s!??

I have recently installed the corel paint program. After the install I noticed that all my .jpg files were changed into a corel type file. The icons changed but the file extention is still .jpg. I uninstalled the program and when I went back to my .jpg files I could not open them at all! I kept getting the “open with” box. I just want my old .jpg files back that open with ie.
