I have a w2k server (build 5.00.2195 sp4) on a dual CPU IBM x225 with 2.5 gig RAM. The performance tab in taskmanager shows one CPU constantly up around 100% in kernel mode (red). The processes tab shows ‘system’ (pid 8) taking up most time (25 to 30% cpu). I have concluded that the reason it is like this is because something is causing a rapid rate of interrupts, but I dont know what. The IRQs table under Hardware in the System Information utility only lists the IRQs and not their rate.
Is there anything out there that shows what device is on what interrupt, and most importantly, what its interrupt rate is?
