Why Acces shows an ODBC msg when setup?

by tornado30 . Updated 25 years ago

I am trying to install MS Acces 97 in a PC with Windows 98 second edition just installed from scratch, I mean the hard disk fomated and everything and then installed Win98, then I installed a couple of softwares including MS Offcice 2000 without Access because I want to install Access 97 instead of 2000, so for to do that here we when installing Access 97 we do it in a diferent directory and not the default one, always have been resulting just great, but in this PC have after running the 100 percent of the installation of ACCESS 97 shows me a message saying “Error while configuring ODBC drivers!…The configuration of the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) driver failed.”, but as I know for doing the installation it doesnt needs any ODBCdriver for it, and doesnt let me finish the setup running. I just unistall and reinstall it and it stills appears and it doesnt let me finish the installation. If someone has any answer for this I will appreciate the help. Thanks.
