Why am I stuck with “windows logon”

by trail99 . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

I cannot log on to Windows 98 using “Client for Microsoft Networks”. I set up my network to use “Client for MS”, reboot and each time, only the “Windows Logon” box appears.
When I try to browse the network, I get a “Not logged on” error (because Ican’t get the “Client” logon box).

I have ripped everything out/put everything back in Network Neighborhood, reinstalled Windows98, and still I’m stuck with “Windows Logon”.
I am not trying to log onto a domain, just set up a peer-to-peer network.
Any suggestions?? Registry fixes??

PS-I have Microsofts TweakUI installed. I didn’t see anything that might cause this in TweakUI, but who knows.
