Why can’t I update Fat to Fat 32?

I was running W95 on a compressed disk using Fat ( I only have a 1 Gig HD ) but on Friday I upgraded to W98 Second Edition. I have tried using the Fat converter ( so that I can use Fat 32 ) but it won’t run. It tells me that I have no files that canbe converted.

I have been searching for info on this problem but no one seems to have had this problem other than me.

My only thought left is to either re-format my drive or un-compress. To uncompress I would have to make 385mbs worth of space on my HD. Neither of these options are very appealing to me as I would have to re-install a lot of software.

Do you have any thoughts on this problem?
