Why is Access locking up my system?

When I enter my Access program it often locks up my entire system. This is a program that is on the network, but doesn’t seem related to the network, as the same program on a second computer does not have the same problem. I’ve reloaded office 97 at least onece to combat this problem but that hasn’t seemed to help.
