Will reinstallg NT erase current applcns

by gohpo . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

Hi,
My notebook’s NT 4 (SP6) is corrupt as I keep
getting “Rasman DLL error” whenever I login.
I cant use its TcpIP functions so I thought of fixing it by deleting TcpIP (so tt I can reinstall it back). It got worse as it wont allow me to delete the TcpIP completely as it says “Altavista 98” tunnel software has to
be deleted 1st. I cant delete the Altavista 98 driver/software too.

I know a friend who reinstalled his Win98 &
his MSOffice, Norton Utils, various icons & applications are still intact after that. Can
I do the same with Win NT 4 server? I have
no prior backup(like Norton Ghost) whatsoever

My notebook is a dual-boot Win98 & Win NT 4
system. My Win98 still boots up fine on the notebook so I dont think it’s a hardware fault (as the vendor has checked it too). No viruses nor disk errors (via scandisk) were found. My notebook came preinstalled with Win98.

Thanks very much in advance
