Win 2000 and NT 4 Servers

I am planning on my network from NT 4 servers to a mixed 2000 server environment with A.D. My delima is that I created a test lab first and now that I am ready to implement the 2000 Active Directory I still have an existing NT 4 PDC. My main concern is how would I demote the PDC to introduce the 2000 server DC? Should I run “net stop” at the command prompt of the NT 4 PDC before I plug in the 2000 DC, and then run “net start” on the NT 4 PDC after that 2000 DC has booted up? Please help…
