Have a wee problem. Using Win2000 Servers and Professional workstations. All on Sp2. Network is in native mode.
We use Domain DFS for shared data, this is mapped upon user logon (kix32 script). Using “net use s: \\\” – note that NT domain is NOT the FQDN…
A problem occurs if the PC loses net connection, when reconnected (using synchronize) the DFS drive is not accessible. Only by restarting the PC (logoff/on does not fix) can the DFS drives be reconnected.
Tried restarting various services on the pc but no change.
The odd thing is that if you use the domain part (eg. \\rangdc.govt.nz\) the connection is made but existing connections using \\\ still show as being unaccessible…
If I then reverse this. Change logon script to use \\rangdc.govt.nz\ rather than \\\, the reverse happens… after reconnecting, drives are still not accessible and using net use with theNT domain name works.
Event log shows a message saying is offline. It also shows a message saying the server name (hosts home drive) is offline but when synchronized, an event saying that is back online.
