Win 2000 PC reboots when detecting PDA

NEW win 2000 pro on PC, when trying to detect a Casio E105 PDA, with active Sync it gets to the point of detecting the com port of the PDA, com 1, when it gets to that point it reboots the PC. tried reloading the PC with Win, then reloading active sync, no change,
