Win 2000 Pro suspend to disk error

by bjfarrell . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

We did a fresh install on a formatted hard drive of Windows 2000 Professional on a Dell Inspiron 3500. When the laptop boots up, it shows a “suspend to disk” error message that the file is missing or a different size. This was a fairly easy fix in98 with the phdisk utility but that doesn’t seem to work in Windows 2000. The computer will go into standy but won’t come back out necessitating a re-boot. Neither Dell nor Microsoft seem to have a answer to the problem. Any great ideas would be appreicated.
