win 2000 upgrade

After upgrading workstation 4.0 to win 2000 Pro I cannot load the Management and Monitoring tools which house SNMP.
It goes half way and stops saying the time allotted to start one or more of the services for SNMP has expired.Can’t find any help from Bill (Microsoft)
