Win 2K and DOS games

Where did they hide DOS mode in Win 2K? I still use ’98 andm y son has 2K…I was trying to help him set up his machine to run the KQ 6 pack and nothing I did (including a floppy boot) would let him access his computer and CD ROM in DOS mode!!! Itis a DELL system but I don’t know the details…
