Win 2K device driver reinstall problem

I am running Windows 2K Professional, Service Pack 2. My monitor, video driver, and printer are shown as not installed in the device driver manager. These devices were properly installed when I first installed windows. When I attempt to reinstall any of these device driver,the “wizard ” finds the device drivers but then I receive an error message stating “error driver not installed cannot find file” All these devices are working properly even though the devices are shown as not installed. No clue from the “wizard” as to be missing files.
