WIN 2K Dynamic Disk

Trying to prepare to mirror primary (boot) disk in WIN 2K machine. Have installed “mirror drive” and configured it as a dynamic disk. Before I convert the boot drive to dynamic I want to be sure that I will not regret it. What are the considerations? Is there significant danger in losing the data on that disk during the conversion?
