win 3.11 and Ibm dos 2000 hangs

I’m trying to setup a pc with IBM dos 2000 and windows for workgroups (3.11). I am not seeing any other machines on the network from Windows 3.11 and if I type in Net command at dos prompt, the machine hangs. I’m dual booting the machine and know that the 3com nic and network are working fine. I’ve looked on ms and ibm websites without finding any patches or faqs. How do I trouble shoot netbeui? Are there Howtos available?
