Win 98 gone mad

Hello Everyone,

There is a user who has problems shutting down his win 98 machine. When the user clicks on either shutdown or restart the computer nothing happens. If he clicks on restart in Msdos it works. There’s also a problem accessing the properties box on the desktop icons like My computer. I can’t get the poperties open. When I try to get the system information in the control panel, nothing works. I can’t open anything in the control panel neither. Very weird.

Anyone heard of any viruses that might cause this?
