Win XP Home SP1 , Explorer & JavaScript

On my bosses home machine (Win XP Home) which I get to do tech support for, he was this problem. After installing SP1 his Internet Explorer will not run/open JavaScript links. I have tried the follow without success: uninstall SP1, uninstall IE, re-install SP1 and then re-install IE. I have done this on a machine (Win XP Pro) with the same problem and that work but it did not on the Win XP Home machine. What gives?
