WIN XP PRO

I am running win xp pro, however I am having frequent disconnection from the internet which is very anoying. Could any help me sort out this problem I am using the correct driver modem for win xp. I am also running win 98 on a seperate machine using the same telephone line etc.. and is having no problems whatsover.
