Win XP Pro Data Source Object Exploit

by oasisdiver . Updated 22 years ago

I have a problem,
After running my spyware software “spybot one day
it informed me that I had an D.S.O.E. problem
and I selected it to correct the problem. After it did so I ran the program again, I always like to double check these things, anyways it was still there.
So I contacted Microsoft Support and their support person guided me to a link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=318178. This link explains how to repair and reinstall Windows Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. After trying both methods and other guidelines and many emails later. The Customer Support Tech. had stated that the issue was out of his boundry and would process a request for advance support from an Advance Microsoft Technical Support Professional to tender to my issue.
After submitting some information and Product ID
The Tech. emailed me back stating that I had an OEM Version of XP Pro and to refer to the Computer builder to whom I had purchased from.
In turn I had informed The Tech. that I was the OEM That I have been building systems for over 10 years and I purchase the OEM operating systems
to install on the machines. Other than a clean reinstall Microsoft could not support or render my problem.

My Question is, Has anyone else come across this problem and have they found a solution for it.

Thank-you for your time and tech. support.
