We are replacing some win9x computers that used belong in a workgroup with Win2k. Users need peer to peer sharing since they are lab machines.
This is a remote site within our domain structure and we have place them in their own workgroup. The PDC is still NT 4.0 These win9x comps also log in to our domain. What I am finding is that when I replace the win9x com with win2k, is that if I make the win2k comp part of the workgroup, it will not be able to access domain resources unless the user types in a password, when the users log off and log back in they have to do it again. On the other hand, If I make the win2k part of the domain, the win2k comp will not be part of the workgroup and therefore the other users on win9x will not be ableto see it and have to go to entire network and click on the respective domain icon to access the resource. Do you see my dilema? I want to keep those computers on the same workgroup. Please let me know what I am missing. I would appreciate it.
