Win2k modem installation conflict

I have a Zoom ISA modem. It is plug-n-play. Windows 2000 Professional is autodetecting the modem, looking for drivers which I have. The first time it comes back “unable to locate driver (disable?)”, which I do. Then it detects the same modem again only when I feed it the same drivers poof! it takes. Now I’m stuck with an unknown device in device manager, which is just annoying.

Anyone else seen this problem? Gotta fix?
