Win2k Proxy Server Issues

by nevans . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I recently installed a Win2k network with 4 clients all running Win2k Pro and one Proxy server running Win2k Server. The Proxy Server is a 1GHz PIII with 512MB Ram and mirrored 15GB HD’s. The server is also acting as a router, with two network cards, one connecting to the T-1 internet connection and the other connecting to a switch with all of the clients. I applied the Proxy Server patch for Win2k compatability and as far as I know I have all of the network settings correct.

The problem is that everytime the Server is re-booted, the internet connection becomes unavailable. The only way we have been able to make the connection available again is to change the subnet mask from 255.255.255.224 to 255.255.255.0 and then back to 255.255.255.224. Now, after the last re-boot, we have not been able to restore the internet connection. This is probobally one of the wierdest things I have ever seen. I have tried everything I can think of including modifying the Local Address Tables. If anyone has seen this problem before, I would greatly appreciate your input.
