Win2K Server / SQL backup problem.

Whenever my SQL backup agent tries to run on my Win2K server, the agent hangs the computer and we have to restart. The SQL version is 7.0, the server box is a Compaq Proliant 800 running Win2K server. The tape backup unit is the one that comes from the factory. We would like the SQL agent to manage the backups directly to tape. Help is appreciated. Thanks!
