Win2K servr can’t see NT dom 1-way trust

by rsurfer . Updated 23 years, 6 months ago

To anyone who can answer,
The domain I manage at is a NT4 domain with a Windows 2K file server. We have a one-way trust with domain X in another bldg.

When I try to give access to the X users on sharded folders in the MY domain, I get an error indicating that the domain controller could not be reached/accessed. I then added an LMHOSTS file that preloaded NetBIOS names for the X domain & PDC. Now it asks for a username and password when I try to assign permissions to

I tried using the NETDOM command line utility, but that didn’t seem to work either.

The only thing I saw on the Win2K Server CD was the “Windows 2000 Support Tools”, which I loaded, but didn’t see anything that would allow a Win2K member server to recognize user accts from a trusted domain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
