Win2k Standby & dial up problems

I’m unable to put my machine into Standby after installing Win 2K. Another problem is my dial up connection not redialling after the 2 hour cut off point, even though the check box is selected to do so.
Cyrix 6X86
196MB RAM
3 GB Hard drive
Matrox Mystique
Soundblaster Live
I’ve installed upto date drivers for everything in the machine BIOS, etc etc but still no joy.
I’d really appreciate some help
